Baglioni opens new plant in San Pietro Mosezzo dedicated to stainless steel

For Baglioni, 2023 has been a year of significant growth, as much as these early months of 2024, both in terms of the market, the range of products offered, personnel, and facilities.

For this reason, our Company felt the need to create new workspaces that could best support and efficiently address this growth.

After inaugurating a new tank production line in the Plant of Casalvolone (in the province of Novara) and the New hall entirely dedicated to stainless in the Astra Refrigerants Plant in Galliate, to expand our production capacity by 30% for the hydrogen, food and pharma sectors, we are also working on theexpansion of the Group’s headquarters, in San Pietro Mosezzo.

The project includes the construction of five new offices for the technical, development, and industrial R&D departments and a new hall completely dedicated to stainless steel in different sectors (from hydrogen to air treatment and biogas).

This is a major development that allows us not only to increase from the current 300 square meters to 3,000 square meters, so as to provide customers with a increased production capacity, but also of grow in new areas, consolidate company know-how, improve processes, and expand our working horizons in the compressed air, hydrogen, biomethane, and any other compressed gas markets.

The project will be completed and active from April 2024.

At Baglioni, we have always been committed to providing sustainable solutions that, in recent months, have brought us closer to the biogas, more specifically to the process of upgrading biogas to biomethane (which increases the quality of biogas by removing impurities and CO₂ present within it), to actively and concretely contribute to the Decarbonization through the provision of different components:

The biogas, a mixture of gases, mainly composed of methane and carbon dioxide, produced by the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter in an oxygen-free environment, is an energy source that produces Minimal and more controlled pollutant emissions and, for this reason, plays a leading role in the ecological transition process that we at Baglioni want to pursue.

Baglioni’s path and growth in recent years

In recent years, the Baglioni Group has grown significantly and expanded by making new products and opening new production lines.

In 2016, we acquired 100% of the capital of Astra Refrigerants SpA (“Astra”) to consolidate our leadership position in the Oil&Gas and Energy sector and enhance our development in international markets.

We continued this path of growth with the opening of Galliate 3, a new oil and gas warehouse of 2,700 square meters dedicated exclusively to stainless steel processing to meet greater demands by increasing local production and with the opening of a new production line for tanks in the Casalvolone Plant to further develop our production of compressed air pressure tanks. Finally, in the next few weeks we will complete theexpansion of the Group’s headquarters in San Pietro Mosezzo with a hall dedicated to stainless steel in different sectors.

Recently, we have also initiated a process of reshoring of production , that is, the return of part of the SPE Division destined for the U.S. market from the plant in China to the plant in Corigliano d’Otranto, which specializes in the production of small and medium-sized tanks.

We have participated in numerous industry trade fairs, including. Hannover Messe 2023 and the World Hydrogen Congress 2023 , and participated in orientation and training events with Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino such as the Career Day 2023 , the Career Service 2023 PoliMI and the Tech Talk 2024 PoliTO .

Finally, we have demonstrated our commitment to ESG issues , by drafting for the sustainability report 2022 and initiating the Baglioni Oasis, through the installation at our sites two beehives with 3Bee technology.
