The reshoring from China to Puglia of Baglioni products for the U.S. market
It has been more than 20 years since Baglioni opened its first production site in China.
A presence that has enabled us to operate actively in the Asian and Pacific markets and to develop the internationalization process of our Company.
Our plant AIRCOM , opened in 2003 in Shanghai and moved to the eastern province of Zhejiang in 2021, specializes in the production of:
- Carbon steel and stainless steel pressure tanks.
- Air/oil separators for screw compressors in the SPE Division
- Flash tanks for recovering refrigerant gases, pressure vessels for natural gas
Carpentry and semi-finished products produced in the Chinese plant are shipped to our Plants in Europe and America.
This, thanks to synergy with the other plants in our Group, an efficient and effective supply chain, and the compliance of our products with the certifications required in the various destination countries.
Recently, we have been progressively reconsidering part of our corporate sourcing strategy in favor of reshoring, i.e., re-locating our manufacturing activities for the U.S. market from China to Italy.
The benefits of Baglioni’s European reshoring process
Baglioni’s new corporate strategy includes the return of a portion of SPE Division production destined for the U.S. market from the plant in China to the plant in Corigliano d’Otranto, which specializes in the production of small and medium-sized tanks.
One of the main benefits is the simplification of supply chain management.
This European reshoring process allows us to shorten our supply chain and have more control over every stage of the production process with:
- Reduction in raw material procurement costs
- Elimination of risks of production stoppages related to external events
- Ability to intervene promptly in case of problems
- reduce delivery time
- Improve flexibility in production management
This, thanks in part to the automation built into the production process, enables effective management of internal resources for the production process.
In addition, bringing some of our production and manufacturing back to the province of Lecce has a positive effect on the enhancement of Made in Italy,our country’s employment and its economic growth .
The decision for this European reshoring also ensures environmental benefits: by reducing transportation distances, we can decrease CO2 emissions and our impact on the environment.
This aspect is very important for us at Baglioni to continue the path we have been on and confirm our commitment to sustainability.
New certification of COINOX plant in Apulia
At Baglioni we are proud to have obtained ASME Certification for our COINOX SRL plant in Corigliano d’Otranto.
This certification became necessary in order to be able to export from Southern Italy to the United States some SPE Division products, which were previously manufactured in the Group’s Chinese plant.
Thereshoring activity is part of a broader Group outplacement strategy that aims to make better use of the high skills of our staff in Puglia and allows us to better balance the Group’s production balances.

comply with international quality and safety standards and allows us to produce and export our pressure tanks to the U.S. market.
