What Baglioni does for environmental sustainability
What Baglioni does for environmental sustainability
Environmental sustainability is now a fundamental and increasingly relevant issue for European companies.
Every Enterprise today is called upon to do its part and adopt responsible and sustainable corporate behavior in line with ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
For the Baglioni Group, the environment is a need and a value to be safeguarded.
To this end, we plan our activities by seeking a continuous balance between economic initiatives and environmental needs, toward the safeguarding the world around us and the Reducing our impact on the Planet. We work and plan our corporate future to integrate into the objectives of effectiveness and efficiency the principles of the sustainable development, a prerequisite for a responsible and lasting presence within the market.
What is Baglioni doing in terms of environmental sustainability?
The Baglioni Group considers issues related to theenvironment and sustainability to be of high importance.
All of our products are 100 percent recyclable (steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world), and we are actively working to grow markets that are grafted onto the sustainability thread, such asgreen hydrogen .
We focus on technology and better data management to better analyze the numbers that result from our activities, such as waste management.
Our employees and collaborators also participate in the environmental protection process for:
- promote environmental performance
- To minimize the negative impact on the environment
- Operate a conscious and responsible use of natural resources
“Sustainability,” explains Marco Tartaglino, Baglioni’s development manager. is done with concrete actions based on science and engineering. This is a long process, based on projects to be developed, with small and large impacts to be minimized, zeroed out or compensated for. Projects that take time and commitment to be truly effective.”
“In Baglioni ,” Marco Tartaglino continued. we have begun to measure the impact that our production activities have on the environment and to focus on some pilot projects, to try to give important signals. Like the bees, like the water bottles given to all employees and several others: these are not spot initiatives, these are small gestures, an appetizer that will lead us in the coming years to better understand how much and what to do.”
“We have to be concrete and down-to-earth ,” Marco Tartaglino concludes, “and follow this path in small steps and with tangible actions, to avoid making mistakes and to make a real and meaningful contribution to the Environment and Sustainability in general.
Concrete actions that Baglioni has already put in place and, in some cases, begun to develop.
One of the major initiatives is the first Group Sustainability Report, including the Chinese and American plants.
All Baglioni Group units have analyzed the economic, social and environmental impact generated by the conduct of their business, and the first Group Sustainability Report will be published in the fall.
It will provide detailed information on the effects, actions and results achieved to reduce the environmental impact of all our Plants in all parts of the world.
We are also working to raise awareness of sustainable practices and emission reduction among our employees .
In this direction, we have started an initiative aimed at sustainable mobility: we are adopting a new green fleet, providing hybrid vehicles to our employees and equipping our headquarters with wall boxes for charging cars.
Recently, we have also activated partnerships with nongovernmental organizations and institutions to promote environmental sustainability.
These are partnerships that enable us to share knowledge, resources and best practices to address environmental challenges more effectively.
The most important one is for the 3Bee pilot project, with the goal of protecting and saving bees, which are essential for the survival of the ecosystem
Baglioni backs 3Bee project to promote biodiversity
3Bee is a company and climate tech company that develops concrete projects with a strong environmental and social impact around the world, especially for the preservation of pollinators.
In fact, these animals play a key role in pollinating plants and contribute to the production of food for humans.
Due to climate change and loss of natural habitat, pollinators are now threatened.
The 3Bee Project, of which Baglioni is an active participant, aims to counter these threats through concrete actions, such as the creation of new habitats for pollinators to provide a safe and favorable environment for their survival .
The goal is to plant new pollinator-friendly blooms in specific areas to attract and support these important creatures.
We at Baglioni, in collaboration with 3Bee, chose to install 2 technology hives at the CSC plant in the province of Alessandria.
This is a pilot project that allows us to better understand the technology and its impact on the environment and, once completed, will allow us to expand it to other Plants to promote the Territory’s biodiversity theme.
Today and even more so in the future, we are determined to make decisions capable of preserving the environment and to take actions to minimize the environmental impacts of all our activities as much as possible.
